Actions: 

The working mechanism of this drug is directed toward the blocking of prostaglandins which are the chemical messengers and are involved in the inflammatory response. The inhibition of the two types of the enzyme COX-1 and COX-2 results in the suppression of the sensory nerve transmission to the brain, thus causing decreased pain sensations. By blocking COX enzyme’s mechanism, pelubiprofen impedes the production of prostaglandins, and hence, the inflammation, pain, and fever as a result will likely reduce considerably.

Pharmacology

Pharmacology:

Anti-inflammatory: Pelubiprofen decreases the production of prostaglandins, which are inflammatory mediators, by inhibiting the COX enzyme.

Analgesic: The mechanism of action of pelubiprofen is the reduction of prostaglandin synthesis and thus therapy for the management of pain-induced sensations.

Antipyretic: Pelubiprofen may reduce fever by acting on the hypothalamic heat-regulating center.

The drug is absorbed in the GI tract.

It is highly bound to plasma proteins.

Metabolism

Metabolism primarily occurs in the liver.

Excretion and Elimination

The drug and its metabolites, which are the breakdown products of the drug, are mostly released via the urine, while a small proportion goes out through faeces.
